Can I get CPD points for doing modules?
The short answer is yes, but the longer version is that it's up to your Licensee training manager to make the call.
Anyone can provide training that can count toward CPD, and what we coach is absolutely within the scope of eligible content. In truth, the tracking systems in the back of the members site can tell us more about who has watched what, for how long and whether the completed the content than any PD Day attendance registration system.
However, many Licensee training departments don't have the time or resources to invest the time assessing providers one-by-one, so they rely on industry bodies like the AFA and FPA to do the work for them.
The problem is that these bodies don't do it for free. Quite the opposite, to assess our entire curriculum according to last quote is a $20k - $20k plus investment. Easy when you're a fund manager making millions, but...
It's rather a Catch-22 situation, so our solution is this.
- If you have a Licensee training manager who is open to recognising our training modules as CPD, then we will provide them with as much as we can to support that.
- If he or she can provide us with a template of the information they require (and on the understanding that in providing this information it doesn't require us to hand over intellectual property), we'll fill in the template and provide supporting evidence.
- Voila! You get the CPD we'd love to be able to give everyone without having to be help ransom to the industry monopoly.
